-I am very, very concerned about the pass defense. Kevin Ogletree. You know when Kevin Ogletree, Kevin Ogletree!!! has 8 grabs for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns, a major problem exists. Not to mention, the game sealer on 3rd and 10. Even the usually reliable Corey Webster was burnt toast on an Ogletree double move. However, most of the damage was done against Michael Coe, who is just a sorry excuse for a starting cornerback in the National Football League. So then he "hurts" his hamstring and in comes the next Deion Sanders in Justin Tryon. God was that guy awful. He got completely torched for the little time he was in, including the final 3rd down conversion that iced the game. With Terelle Thomas out for the year, the Giants desperately need Prince Amukamura (not that I think he is great either) to recover from his ankle sprain. Otherwise, we may be in some major trouble.
-Linebacker hasn't been a strength of this team for awhile, and I didn't think they did a good job last night either. Demarco Murray was slicing and dicing, and the run he busted for 50 yards after he had been stopped cold was simply inexcusable. Gotta be better. I thought the d-line performed like the crazy bunch of animals that they are...but I also didn't here Osi Umenyiora's name called too much.
-I thought Eli was great. For whatever reason, Victor Cruz didn't bring his hands tonight. Three key drop on perfectly thrown balls. He was definitely getting separation though, just an off night. On the other hand, I did think Nicks' foot was bothersome--he didn't seem to get his normal separation from the defenders. But you have to love how he catches everything that was thrown his way.
-The running game looked much like last year...bad. Bradshaw was running into brick walls all night, and the David Wilson fumble was extremely costly on a drive that was in Cowboys territory and steadily progressing. He was pretty much absent for the rest of the game and rightly so. I'm sorry, unless you get absolutely shellacked, I find fumbles to be inexcusable. He brings a ton of explosiveness to the table, but if he brings the fumble problem that plagued his collegiate career...he will have to spend most of his time on the sidelines.
That's all I got for now fellas. I'm not panicking whatsoever, but just observing what I witnessed. I am fully confident the Giants will rebound and kick the ever loving shit out of Tampa Bay. Go Big Blue.
